Summary Rabbits were subjected to infrared irradiation of the iris 1 month after unilateral cervical sympathectomy. The resulting breakdown of the blood-aqueous barrier was greatly enhanced on the sympathectomized side. In contrast, the response to intravitreally injected substance P (SP) was the same in both eyes. The enhancement of the response to IR irradiation could be abolished by pretreatment with an SP antagonist, (D-Pro2, D-Trp7,9)-SP.This study was supported by grants from the Swedish MRC (04X-1007, 14X-2321), the Medical Faculty of Lund, Ferring Arzneimitel, Kiel (Federal Republic of Germany) and Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Malmö (Sweden).  相似文献

Le sérum qui a été prélevé à ces lapins contient un facteur non-dialysable et de grandes molécules. Summary Centrifugation techniques were used to determine the subcellular distribution of noradrenaline (NA) and dopamine -hydroxylase (DH) in the rabbit iris. By application of isopycnic and differential gradient centrifugation methods 2 types of NA vesicles could be demonstrated. Of the total particle bound NA about 70% is associated with light and about 30% with heavy vesicles. For both types of vesicles the distribution of DH reflected that of NA.  相似文献

Summary Isolated ductus arteriosus responds by marked constriction to increases in perfusion pressure. If, however, these increases exceed 90 mm Hg-130 mm Hg, the vessel suddenly dilates and its responsiveness becomes depressed. Podocalyxin (PODXL) is a mucin protein of the CD34 family expressed in kidney glomerular podocytes, vascular endothelium, progenitor bone marrow and tumor cells. It is assumed that PODXL plays an anti-adherent role in kidney podocytes. CHO cells stably expressing human PODXL (CHO-PODXL) or human tumor cells (Tera-1) inherently expressing PODXL showed increased adherence to platelets. The adherence of cells was inhibited (70%) by blockers of platelet P-selectin, prevented by the soluble ectodomain of human PODXL (PODXL-Δ) or by the arginine-glycine-aspartate (RGDS) peptide and partially impeded by inhibition of integrin αVβ3/αVβ5, suggesting a coordinated action of P-selectin and integrins. Colocalization of platelet P-selectin and PODXL expressed on CHO cells was demonstrated by confocal immunofluorescence. No adherence to platelets was observed when PODXL was expressed in glycomutant CHO cells deficient in sialic acid.
