Summary Orchidectomy plus estradiol administration decreased acetylcholinesterase activity in the rat cerebral cortex and mesencephalon, while in the amygdala it was increased. Summary The histochemical localization of monoamine oxidase and acetylcholinesterase has been studied in the cerebellum, optic tectum and telencephalon of three amphibian species. Résumé La trémorine a été administrée chez les rats quotidiennement pendant 7 jours à des doses de 7.5, 22.5 ou 30 mg/kg. Les témoins ont montré des mouvements convulsifs proportionnels à la dose de trémorine. Quatre jours après l'arrêt du traitement, l'activité acétylcholinestérasique du cortex cérébral était augmentée. Il est proposé que ce change de l'activité acétylcholinestérasique reflète une utilisation accrue de l'acétylcholine corticale.

Summary The presence of both acetylcholinesterase reaction and glyoxylic acid-induced fluorescence of catecholamines in the same glomus cells of rat carotid body was demonstrated using combined histochemical methods. A suggestion is made that the glomus cells have both excitatory and inhibitory effects on the chemosensory nerve via acetylcholine and catecholamines, respectively.Acknowledgments. Zusammenfassung Die Morphologie und Innervation der Muskelspindeln der Lumbricalmuskulatur im Hinterfuss der Ratte wird beschrieben. Eine typische Muskelspindel enthält zwei «nuclear bag» Fasern und zwei «nuclear chain» Fasern. Jede Spindel enhält 2 motorische Nerven, einer innerviert die «nuclear bag» Fasern, der andere die «nuclear chain» Fasern. 50% der Spindeln haben nur primäre sensorische Innervationen, die übrigen 50% haben eine primäre sensorische Endung und 1 oder 2 sekundäre Endungen.

Injektion wurde Testosterone-3H von den Nerven- und Glialzellen innerhalb des Gehirns der weiblichen Ratte und Estradiol-3H innerhalb des Gehirns der männlichen Ratte aufgenommen. Zwei Stunden nach der Injektion war die Aufnahme in hohem Masse nur noch in gewissen Teilen des hypothalamisch-limbischen Systems vorhanden.
