A new method for determination of α-amylase

Zusammenfassung Für die Bestimmung der enzymatischen Aktivität der-Amylase wurde ein neues Substrat synthetisiert. Die Synthese kam in der Hauptsache durch die Farbstoffbindung an wasserlösliche Stärke und die anschliessende Vernetzung sowie durch den Zusatz von Diepoxid zustande.

Riassunto È stata studiata per via spettrofotometrica la reazione cromatica tra nitrazepam e 1,2-naftochinone in dimetilformammide (DMF) in presenza di ammoniaca. È stato stabilito che in soluzione si forma un addotto molecolare dei due reagenti in rapporto molare 11. Tale reazione viene proposta come metodo di determinazione colorimetrica del nitrazepam in liquidi biologici quali sangue, saliva ed urina.     

A rapid HPLC method for determination of adenylate energy charge

A simple procedure is described for separation and analysis of adenine nucleotides in tissue extracts, utilizing anion exchange HPLC. Determination of AMP, ADP, and ATP takes 10 min per sample.     

A new method for measuring guanidine in uremia

Riassunto Si descrive un metodo per la determinazione della guanidine nei liquidi biologici e si rileva che essa aumenta nel siero uremico fino a 30 volte la norma (valore medio normale: 1.41±0.49 g/100 ml) e che nei cani uremici la concentrazione muscolare è di quasi 3 volte superiore a quella plasmatica. La eliminazione urinaria non è diversa fra normali ed uremici: 382±221 e 459±229 g/24 h, rispettivamente.

A new method of scenario analysis for strategic planning

We first present scenario analysis as a qualitative forecasting technique useful for strategic planning. Then we develop an overview of the two classes of methods for scenario analysis described in the literature. Based on both classes, a new method is developed which especially fits the needs of strategic planning. The method can be divided into three stages: 1. Determination of compatible scenarios, 2. Determination of scenario probabilities, and 3. Determination of main scenarios. An example is given to illustrate the method.     

A rapid,sensitive method for the determination of follicle-stimulating activity

Riassunto Gli Autori riportano un nuovo metodo di saggio sul topo di piccole quantità di ormone follicolo stimolante (FSH), basato sulla riduzione intravaginale del cloruro di 2,3,5-trifeniltetrazolio cloruro (TTC). È cosi possibile determinare quantitativamente in sole 30 h dosi di FSH almeno 50 volte inferiori a quelle valutabili con i metodi fino ad oggi proposti.     

A spectrophotometric method for the determination of 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate

Summary A new, sensitive, specific and simple spectrophotometric method for the determination of 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate (PRPP) is presented. PRPP is reacted with excess hypoxanthine in the presence of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase. At the end of the reaction, PRPP concentration is measured from the extent of conversion of hypoxanthine to inositate. The concentration of the purine base is determined spectrophotometrically in the presence of xanthine oxidase.
