A method of mass tissue culture in bacteriological culture dishes

Zusammenfassung Eine Methode der Massen-Gewebezüchtung in Petrischalen, geeignet für Viruszüchtung und für chemische Analysen, wird beschrieben, mit welcher, wenn ein gemeinsames, zusammenhängendes Plasmagerinnsel mit Zusatz von Embryonalextrakt und Amnionflüssigkeit als Züchtungsmedium benutzt wird. Ein besonders rasches, dichtes Kulturwachstum kann so leicht erzielt werden. Mikroskopische Beobachtung der Zellen ist bei 400facher Vergrösserung, im gewöhnlichen und im invertierten Mikroskop, leicht möglich.

A new technique is described for measuring radioactivity in select areas of intact tissue sections. The method, which makes use of a liquid scintillation counter, also makes possible identification of the studied zones by prestaining.     

A heated stage and tissue culture chamber for electrophysiology.

A simple, inexpensive heating circuit is described for use with a warmed microscope stage, small tissue bath, and heated tissue culture chamber. A major consideration in the design of the apparatus is a compatability with electrophysiological studies. Thus, proper shielding and low profile for microelectrode positioning are featured.

A technique for sterile culture of fresh water sponges

Summary By treating the gemmules of freshwater sponges successively with hydrogen peroxide and with sodium hypochlorite in suitable concentrations, we obtained cultures that were free from any bacterial or fungal contaminant. A method of reducing the fibrinolytic activity of endometrium cells in plasma clot tissue culture

Zusammenfassung Durch Zusatz von Lysin-äthylester (LEe) zum Plasmakoagel in einer Konzentration von 2,5–5 mg/ml ist es möglich, die fibrinolytische Aktivität des Endometriums in Gewebezuchten zu verhindern. Ausserdem hemmt LEe das Fibroblastenwachstum.
