Summary A rapid, convenient TLC method is described for detection of cyclochlorotine, a carcinogen produced by the commonly found storage moldPenicillium islandicum Sopp. This method has also led to the isolation of a new toxic metabolite, simatoxin.Acknowledgment. Zusammenfassung Es wird eine einfache Methode zur Trennung und Differenzierung der Serumproteine mit Hilfe der Papierchromatographie (Rundfilter-Papierchromatographie) beschrieben. Die Chromatogramme zeigen charakteristische Unterschiede der Albumin- und Globulinfraktionen bei normalen Seren und bei Seren von Patienten mit Leberzirrhose.

A convenient cell for the determination of the electrophoretic velocity of microscopic particles

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine modifizierte Glaselektrophoresezelle von zylindrischem Querschnitt beschrieben, die in jedem Laboratorium leicht hergestellt werden kann. Der Vorteil der Modifikation hinsichtlich der Fokussierung und der Beweglichkeit wird besprochen.     

A method for the isolation of ommochrome-containing granules from insect eyes

Summary A routine method for the preparation of pigment granules from insect eyes is reported. When viewed using an electron microscope, the isolated granules appear to be free from different structural elements, and there is very little contamination by membranous material. A rapid electrophoretic method for the separation of hydroxyproline from proline

Summary A rapid, sensitive procedure is described which uses custom made apparatus to separate radioactive imino acids. This technique provides a simple measurement of the distribution of newly synthesized collagen in different fractions.Acknowledgment.
