[3H]Thymidine is degraded by an enzyme (thymidine phosphorylase; EC 2.4.2.4) which we have identified in the plasma of man and some animals. The presence of this enzyme in plasma or sera used to supplement culture media may, under certain experimental conditions, limit the validity of measuring the uptake of radiolabeled thymidine as a means of defining DNA synthesis.  相似文献

Tetanus toxin and botulinum A neurotoxin partially prevent the evoked [3H]noradrenaline release in the same range of toxin concentrations starting below 10(-10) M. Summary Binding of [3H]GABA and [3H]muscimol, indicative of GABA-receptors, has been demonstrated in a neurone-enriched culture of embryonic mouse brain using a ligand-binding technique. Evidence is provided for the existence of different populations of GABA-receptors.This study was supported by C.N.R.S., ATP No 3356 and by Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique, Departement of Biologie. Summary After i.v. injections of cocaine, norcocaine, pseudococaine to the rat, the T1/2 in brain were 0.4, 0.6, 0.2 h respectively and in plasma 0.4, 0.5, 0.2 h respectively. Benzoylnorecgonine and norecgonine were the metabolites of norcocaine in brain. Pseudonorcocaine, pseudobenzoylnorecgonine, pseudobenzoylecgonine and pseudoecgonine were the metabolites of pseudococaine in rat brain. Benzoylnorecgonine and pseudobenzoylecgonine had potent stimulant activity intracisternally in the rats.Acknowledgment. The presence of a protein disulfide isomerase (rearrangease) in wheat embryo has been demonstrated by its ability in reactivating randomly cross-linked ribonuclease. This activity requires a dialysable cofactor; after dialysis, the activity is recovered by addition of reduced glutathione. Zusammenfassung Es wurde die Wirkung von Lokalanästhetika auf die Anhäufung von [3H]-Metaraminol im Vorhofmuskel und Vas deferens des Kaninchens untersucht. Die von Kokain hervorgerufene Hemmung der [3H]-Metaraminol-Akkumulation ist mindestens hundertmal stärker als diejenige nach Procain, Prilocain und Lidocain.

THC decreases 3H-thymidine uptake within 15 sec. after addition of the drug to the culture (L1210 murine lymphoma cells and human lymphocytes). Experiments performed at 0 degrees C indicate that THC has no action on thymidine binding to the carrier. THC in micromolar concentration inhibits DNA synthesis through a alteration of membrane configuration.  相似文献

Summary The biliary excretion of [3H] LSD was studied in Wistar and homozygous Gunn rats. In Wistar rats approximately 46% of the given dose was recovered from bile in 2.5 h whilst in the homozygous Gunn rat 26% was recovered in the same time period. Using simultaneous recordings we have made in Man a comparative study of: the sural nerve afferent volley, the nociceptive flexor reflex of a muscle of the lower limb and the associated painful sensation. Two types of stimulations were used, a single short duration electric stimulus, and a train of electric shocks (100/sec). With a single stimulus, the nociceptive flexor reflex and the painful sensation develop only when A delta fibers are recruited. On the other hand, when the stimulations are given by trains the nociceptive flexor reflex and the painful sensation can develop with a stimulus sub-liminar to the threshold of A delta fibers, when A alpha fibers are recruited. When the stimulus activate both A alpha and A delta fibers, the flexion reflex and the pain disappear when a selective blockade of the A delta group is exerted by means of Lidocain.  相似文献

Summary Although their body weights were decreased by about 77% and their brain weights by about 30%, high-affinity [3H] muscimol binding to a cerebral membrane fraction was not altered in hereditary pituitary dwarf mice.
