When free DHEA, its sulfatide, and sulfate were assayed in maternal plasma as well as in umbilical cord arterial and venous plasma, rather high concentrations were found in either fraction from cord arterial plasma, reflecting the fetal contribution not only of free DHEA and DHEA sulfate, but also of the lipophile steroid sulfatide. Since high DHEA levels were associated with elevated c-AMP concentrations, a certain interrelationship of both parameters is indicated. In the course of delivery, a rapid decrease of free estriol in maternal plasma was observed. Higher concentration of free estriol in umbilical venous plasma pointed at its placental biosynthesis from fetal precursors.  相似文献

Two strains of parasites isolated from cases of oriental sore in the Pyrénées-Orientales were identified by electrophoretic analysis of eight isoenzymes (PGM, PGI, G-6-PDH, 6-PGDH, IDH, MDH, ME and GOT). Both strains were identical with Leishmania infantum Nicolle, 1908, which normally causes visceral leishmaniasis. It is probable that, in the Mediterranean region, some cutaneous lesions observed within the area of visceral leishmaniasis are caused by this species rather than by Leishmania tropica (Wright, 1903) or Leishmania major (Yakimoff and Schokor, 1914) traditionally believed to be agents of cutaneous leishmaniasis in the Old World.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Die Bebrütung einer gereinigten G-6-PDH aus menschlichem Testisgewebe mit 3-substituierten 4- oder 5-C19-Steroiden zeigte, dass 3-Hydroxy-4-oder 5-androsten-17-on auch wirksame Inhibitoren der testikulären G-6-PDH darstellen. Zur gleichen Zeit konnten die früher gefundenen Zusammenhänge zwischen chemischer Struktur eines Steroids und seiner biologischen Aktivität im G-6-PDH-Hemmtest uneingeschränkt bestätigt werden.  相似文献

The correlation between 3',5', c-AMP levels, TSH content and secretion of separated thyrotropic cells was studied. Incubation of the separated cells with 1, 10 and 100 ng of TRH does not change the 3',5',c-AMP levels, despite the significant rises of the TSH level. Dibutyryl c-AMP causes rise in TSH content, with no indication of its secretion. PGE2 10(-5) increased 3'5',c-AMP levels with no change in the content or secretion of TSH in separated thyrotropic cells.  相似文献

Total hexoses, galactose, total proteins and total uronic acids were determined on each fraction. Total hexoses and galactose were eluted in 6 distinct peaks. The uronic acid containing GAG were eluted in 4 small peaks on G-25 and 1 peak on G-100. This peak is eluted always with high amounts of galactose containing glycoproteins.  相似文献

Summary Discriminant analysis carried out on a set of environmental and sociocultural variables in the Sardinian population suggests that G-6-PD deficiency and thalassemia move along 2 dimensions partially independent of each other. Partial correlation analysis also suggests that malaria, by itself, may exert opposite effects on thalassemia and G-6-PD selection. The present results support the hypothesis that thalassemia may be the primary genetic factor selected by malaria, whereas G-6-PD selection may be a secondary adaptation phenomenon strongly dependent on other genetic and environmental variables.  相似文献

To explain the mechanism of DNP action the contents of ATP, ADP, AMP and G-6-P were determined in perfused rat hearts in a period of time in which the rate of the glycogenolysis was increased. The levels of these metabolytes in the extract were consistent with an increase of the phosphofructokinase activity. On the other hand, the finding of higher activity of phosphyrylase beta kinase in DNP-poisoned animals could be explained as due to the low content of G-6-P in the perfused hearts subjected to the action of the drug.  相似文献

Rhythmic production of melatonin by the mammalian pineal occurs in response to noradrenergic stimulation which produces a cascade of biochemical events within the pinealocyte. In the rat, massive changes in NAT activity result from an increase in intracellular c-AMP levels produced by a synergistic interaction whereby an alpha 1 activation amplifies beta-adrenergic stimulation. The intracellular events mediating this effect are described. A major aspect of the temporal control of melatonin production is the programmed down-regulation of responses to noradrenergic stimulation once the initial surge of c-AMP is produced. Noradrenergic activation of the gland also influences other enzymic functions, including tryptophan hydroxylase and HIOMT activities, and produces a dramatic increase in intracellular c-GMP levels. Other neurotransmitters and neuropeptides, e.g. VIP, may also influence pineal function and comparisons are made between the rat, the subject of the bulk of experimental studies, and other species.  相似文献

AMP deaminase, 5'-nucleotidase and adenosine deaminase have been estimated in skeletal muscle and myocardial tissue in normal rats and in rats subjected to experimental myocardial infarction or hypothermia. A difference in the enzyme distribution was found between the right and left ventricles in the normal rat. A decrease in the activity of 5'-nucleotidase and an increase in the activity of adenosine deaminase were observed in infarcted myocardial tissue. The activity of all 3 enzymes was found to be depressed in the myocardium in rats subjected to hypothermia. These results are discussed in relation to adenosine production and its beneficial effects.  相似文献

Summary Feeding various dosages of benzene hexachloride (100, 250, 750 and 1500 ppm) in the diet to weanling male albino rats for 90 days resulted in marked hypertrophy of the adrenals with large, vacuolated cells in the cortex at 750 and 1500 ppm. Accumulation of cholesterol-positive lipids and marked reduction in the activities of steroidogenic enzymes such as 5 3 HSDH, 11 HSDH, G-6-PDH and SDH were seen using histochemical methods in the adrenal cortex of rats fed 750 and 1500 ppm. The results are suggestive of steroidogenic inhibition at 750 and 1500 ppm of dietary BHC while 100 and 250 ppm did not produce any discernible changes in the adrenal cortex.Acknowledgments. Plasminogen activator produced in organ culture of human kidney, i.e. in the histotypical arrangement of the tissue, was partially purified by affinity chromatography on para-aminobenzamidine coupled to Sepharose by a 6-carbon spacer, followed by gel chromatography on Sephadex G-100. A partially purified preparation of a water-soluble, heat-resistant, nonspecific exotoxin produced by a strain of Macrophomina phaseolina, isolated from Phaseolus mungo L. could reduce Cu++ ions and produced a red colour with 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine reagent. It caused inhibition of seed germination, wilting of cult seedlings, stunted growth of young seedlings and loss of permeability of the cell membrane. Seedlings of P. mungo, grown in presence of the toxin showed a slight increase in the contents of protein and total RNA over control, but a significant increase in the specific activities of F-1, 6-BP aldolase and G-6-P isomerase.  相似文献
