Summary Human plasma viscosity was measured in capillary tube, cone-plate and Couette viscometers. The measurement of the viscosity at very low shear rates showed that plasma is a non-Newtonian fluid with a pseudoplastic rheological behaviour. The importance of this phenomenon for the microcirculation is discussed.We are grateful to OM Laboratories, Geneva, for providing the Contraves Low Shear 30 viscometer.  相似文献

The capillary viscosimeter (Viscotimer) tested with different Ubbelohde-viscosimeters is suitable for measurements of plasmaviscosity; the limitting factor of the measuring method is the exact adjustment of the temperature. When testing the plate-cone-viscosimeter (Wells-Brookfield Microviscosimeter), we achieved scientifically adequate results only when using shear rates 230, 115 and 46 sec-1. An influence of different thrombocyte-concentrations on the viscosity of whole blood and plasma could not be detected. The flow capacity of whole blood and plasma is distinctly dependent on the temperature.  相似文献

针对目前油溶性稠油降粘剂存在的针对性强和降粘效果差等问题,研制了一种油溶性稠油降粘剂.该降粘剂分子结构中含有极性基团和烷基,极性基团可以降低稠油中胶质和沥青质的氢键作用,烷基可以增加油溶性稠油降粘剂的溶解能力,从而提高其降粘效果.该油溶性稠油降粘剂的最佳合成条件为:乙二醇、环氧氯丙烷和十八酰氯物质的量分数之比为4∶4∶1.5,第一步主链反应温度为110℃,反应时间为8h,促进剂N质量分数为1.4%;第二步接枝反应温度为110℃,反应时间14h.通过性能评价发现:该降粘剂具有一定的广普性,对多种稠油均有一定的降粘效果,其对4#稠油的降粘效果最好,最佳加量为200 mg/L,最优降粘温度为50℃;稠油降粘剂与十八烷基三甲基溴化铵复配后可以提高降粘剂的降粘效果,降粘率可达57%以上.  相似文献

Summary The effect of suloctidil (1-(4-isopropylthiophenyl)-2-n-octylaminopropanol) on increased blood viscosity was studied in healthy volunteers after forearm occlusion. A significant reduction of blood viscosity was observed in subjects treated 1 day before, or immediately before, the ischaemic trial. It is concluded that the drug may preserve the deformability of erythrocytes during an ischaemic episode.  相似文献

目的通过考察不同梯度分子量膜对中药水提液物理化学性质的影响,探索中药水提液复杂体系在膜分离过程中的规律。方法测定以0.2μmAl2O3无机陶瓷膜和5万、1万、6千分子量PS膜纯化清络通痹水提液前后各样品的pH、浊度、粘度、电导率、青藤碱含量、总固含物量等指标。结果清络通痹水提液在膜分离前后的pH、浊度、粘度、电导率及青藤碱含量等方面表现出不同的特征。结论膜纯化前后样品的各指标变化趋势呈现一定的相关性。  相似文献

Summary Sedimentation coefficient, intrinsic viscosity, amino acid composition and myosin binding capacity of actin from calf's heart were determined. The results are in fair agreement with values published for actin from other sources. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of diet on the colonisation by Campylobacter jejuni of the chick caeca, and to determine whether the viscosity of the intestinal contents and mucin carbohydrates were altered by the diet. The diets investigated were maize based, wheat-based or wheat-based supplemented with xylanase. The xylanase-supplemented diet reduced the viscosity and lowered the numbers of Camp. jejuni. Feeding the enzyme-supplemented diet increased the amount of neutral and sulphated mucins in the goblet cells of the small and large intestines and caecum. An abundance of sulphated and carboxylated mucins was seen in the surface goblet cells of the large intestine with the maize- and wheat-based diets. Both the diet supplemented with xylanase and the maize diets increased crypt-surface glycosylation of the sialic acid residues. The analysed data from the combined sites showed significant differences in the amount of neutral and acidic mucins when comparing the wheat and the wheat plus xylanase diets. However, no changes were shown in the staining intensity of sulphated mucins between the three diets. Significant differences in the glycosylation of sialic acid and in the N-acetylglucosamine residues were shown between dietary groups. These results provide evidence that the wheat diet supplemented with xylanase leads to greater changes in the mucin composition and carbohydrate expression of goblet cell glycoconjugates, which are associated with a reduction in intestinal viscosity and decreased numbers of Camp. jejuni.  相似文献

The specific activity of dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP IV E.C. 3.4.14.-) in the plasma membrane of Morris hepatoma 9121 or hepatoma 7777 was 3.5% and 2.9%, respectively, of that in the plasma membrane of rat liver. The enzyme activity in the serum of hepatoma-bearing rats was 141% (hepatoma 91219) and 162% (hepatoma 7777) of the normal value. Cytochemical investigation showed that the DPP IV activity was almost completely absent from the hepatoma cell plasma membrane and was not sequestered within these cells. Indirect immunofluorescence staining with a polyclonal antibody directed against DPP IV indicated that the loss of activity was due to the absence of DPP IV molecules in the plasma membrane. The possibility that the enzyme is transferred from the membrane into the serum as a result of structural alterations is discussed.  相似文献

The isolation of extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood is of great importance to understand the biological role of circulating EVs and to develop EVs as biomarkers of disease. Due to the concurrent presence of lipoprotein particles, however, blood is one of the most difficult body fluids to isolate EVs from. The aim of this study was to develop a robust method to isolate and characterise EVs from blood with minimal contamination by plasma proteins and lipoprotein particles. Plasma and serum were collected from healthy subjects, and EVs were isolated by size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), with most particles being present in fractions 8–12, while the bulk of the plasma proteins was present in fractions 11–28. Vesicle markers peaked in fractions 7–11; however, the same fractions also contained lipoprotein particles. The purity of EVs was improved by combining a density cushion with SEC to further separate lipoprotein particles from the vesicles, which reduced the contamination of lipoprotein particles by 100-fold. Using this novel isolation procedure, a total of 1187 proteins were identified in plasma EVs by mass spectrometry, of which several proteins are known as EV-associated proteins but have hitherto not been identified in the previous proteomic studies of plasma EVs. This study shows that SEC alone is unable to completely separate plasma EVs from lipoprotein particles. However, combining SEC with a density cushion significantly improved the separation of EVs from lipoproteins and allowed for a detailed analysis of the proteome of plasma EVs, thus making blood a viable source for EV biomarker discovery.  相似文献

In the male European Badger there are important variations in the plasma testosterone and thyroxine levels during the annual cycle. During the summer, plasma testosterone concentrations are low while plasma thyroxine rises to a very high level. In winter, when the thyroid activity is minimal, testicular activity increases. A new extracellular polysaccharide has been isolated by chromatography on anion exchanger of a fraction obtained from highly viscous culture media of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. This polysaccharide is characterised by high molecular weight (1,000,000 dalton) and intrinsic viscosity (323 ml/g). It contains 24% neutral sugar (galactose and mannose 5:1), 35% glucuronic acid and 51.5% N-acetylhexosamines (N-actylglucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine and N-acetylbacillosamine 6:9:1).  相似文献

Summary Some arguments put forward byG. Bier in a recent article in order to supportH. Staudinger's assumption that chain molecules in solution should behave like straight rigid rods are examined. It is shown that the assumptions made byG. Bier are largely arbitrary. The main argument is the assumption that the C-C-bond in long chain molecules should not show any rotation. As far as this point is concerned, attention is drawn to some recent publications showing that the viscosity of shape of chain molecules can be determined by experiment (specific viscosity and double refraction of flow at high velocity gradients). According to these determinations the time necessary for a complete change of shape, using partially free rotation, is of the order of 10–5–10–3 seconds for molecules like nitrocellulose or polystyrene up to degrees of polymerization of several thousands and for viscosities of the solvent of the order of 10–2 poises.  相似文献

Summary Plasma IgG, IgM and IgA estimations were carried out in blood samples with varying degrees of haemolysis, produced by controlled ultrasonication. Extent of haemolysis was determined by plasma haemoglobin, plasma potassium and packed cell volume; and plasma IgG, IgM and IgA estimations showed a steady and significant fall with increasing haemolysis. The influence of blood sampling, anesthesia and surgery on plasma vasopressin concentration was assessed in rats. Mean plasma concentration in conscious, chronically catheterized rats was 1.4 +/- 0.1 pg/ml (n = 6). This value remained constant over repeated plasma samplings in the same animals. On the other hand, decapitation increased the plasma vasopressin concentration to 6.0 +/- 2.4 (in pg/ml) (n = 6), inactin anesthesia to 2.9 +/- 0.6 (n = 6), anesthesia and femoral cannulation to 13.3 +/- 5.8 (n = 6) and surgery for renal micropuncture to 81.3 +/- 35.0 (n = 6). It is concluded that the level of circulating plasma vasopressin is highly dependent on the sampling technique and is closely related to the extent of surgery.  相似文献
