Zusammenfassung Als weitere Symptomedes Syndroms der gewaltsamen Entwöhnung wurden bei den Rattenweibchen leichte Senkung des Kalis und zugleich Anstieg der-Lipoproteine und des Cholesterol im Blutspiegel gefunden.     

The effect of early weaning on spermiogenesis in adult rats

Zusammenfassung Junge, vorzeitig (18 Tage nach der Geburt entwöhnte Ratten) zeigen im Alter von 12 Monaten Schädigungen im spermiogenen Hodenepithel. 12 Tage später entwöhnte Ratten entwickeln sich normal. Die beobachteten Schädigungen treten im Alter von 6 Monaten noch nicht auf.     

Stereotaxic localization of amygdaloid nuclei in rats from weaning to adulthood

Zusammenfassung Stereotaxische Koordinaten werden für die Setzung von Läsionen in den Amygdalen von Ratten (54–236 g Körpergewicht) ermittelt. Die Daten ermöglichen auch die Extrapolation von Strukturen, die in dieser Mitteilung nicht erwähnt wurden.

Food intake patterns from weaning to adulthood in male and female rats with hypothalamic lesions

Zusammenfassung Änderungen in der Futteraufnahme von Ratten mit hypothalamischen Läsionen sind nicht nur vom Locus, sondern auch vom Geschlecht und dem Alter abhängig, in welchem sie beigebracht wurden. Pubertät scheint eine Zeit zu sein, in welcher Änderungen in der Futteraufnahme eintreten. Läsionen im hinteren Hypothalamus, die bisher nicht als hyperphagisch bekannt waren, wenn sie in erwachsenen Ratten plaziert wurden, verursachten Hyperphagie in beiden Geschlechtern, wenn die Operation kurz nach Ablaktation durchgeführt wurde.

Lymphocytopenic reaction after glucose administration in thymectomized rats

Zusammenfassung Die Lymphocytopenie nach Glukoseinjektion wurde bei thymektomierten Ratten untersucht. Ein Unterschied gegenüber normalen Tieren wurde hierbei nicht gefunden.     

Decreased thyroid radioiodine uptake after diazoxide in rats

Zusammenfassung Es wird über eine signifikante Hemmungswirkung von Diazoxide (Hyperstat Schering) auf die Radiojodspeicherung in der Ratten-Schilddrüse berichtet. Während die Kontrollen einen Mittelwert der Radiojodspeicherung 0,65%/mg zeigen, beträgt er nach i.v. Injektion von 5 mg Diazoxide 0,49%/mg.     

Hepatic proline after bile duct ligation in rats

Since biliary hyperplasia of fascioliasis correlated with hepatic proline level, we examined the occurrence of a similar chemical stimulus during bile obstruction. Uptake of tritiated proline and glycine rose in both hepatocytes and a bile duct enriched cell fraction, following duct ligation in rats. The increased hepatic content of proline but not glycine suggests that proline has a role in post-obstructive biliary proliferation.     

Liver phospholipides after carbon tetrachloride intoxication in rats

Riassunto Dopo avvelenamento acuto di ratti con CCl₄ somministrato con dose singola per via orale l'incorporazione in vivo di P³² nei fosfolipidi del fegato è alterata precocemente. A 80 min dalla somministrazione del tossico si osserva un forte aumento delle P³²-lisolecitine, mentre risulta bloccata la sintesi di acido fosfatidico.     

The calorigenic action of norepinephrine in rats after hypophysectomy

Zusammenfassung 2–4 h nach Hypophysektomie erhöht Noradrenalin den Sauerstoffverbrauch wie bei Kontrollratten, 7 Tage nach der Entfernung der Hypophyse ist jedoch diese Wirkung des Noradrenalin aufgehoben. Die CO₂-Abgabe verhält sich qualitativ wie der Sauerstoffverbrauch.     

Demonstration of vascular redistribution after carotid clamping in rats

Summary in Long Evans rats, the vertebral arteries supply only the brain stem. Simultaneous application of clamps to both carotid arteries results in a considerable fall of cerebral blood flow and eventually death. If an interval of about 4 days is allowed between the clamping of the 2 carotids, redistribution of blood flow takes place. Owing to this mechanism, 50% of the rats survive with a satisfactory restoration of cerebral blood flow.     

Increased vascular prostacyclin activity in rats after endotoxin administration

Summary Endotoxin did not interact in vitro with prostacyclin activity but stimulated its release from vascular tissues when administered in single doses to rats 30 min before testing.Acknowledgments. Summary Following surgery newborn rats are often eaten by their mothers. This can be avoided if the wound is closed carefully, the blood removed from the skin, and the wound area covered by a plastic film.     

Intestinal glucose absorption in rats after secondary infections withNippostrongylus brasiliensis

Summary A challenge infection ofNippostrongylus brasiliensis in immune rats resulted in an earlier onset of intestinal glucose malabsorption and increased glucose metabolism compared with rats receiving a primary infection. Intestinal absorption and metabolism recovered to control levels earlier during a secondary infection. The pattern of changes in absorption and metabolism was probably related to host immunological activity.
