An alkaline protease in the delayed hypersensitivity skin lesions in the guinea-pigs

Summary An alkaline hemoglobinolytic protease was extracted from the delayed hypersensitivity skin lesions induced by bovine -globulin as an antigen in the guinea-pig. The enzyme was heat-labile and inhibited by thiol-blocking reagents. The mol.wt was more than 100,000 and optimal pH around 9.We thank Prof. Hideo Hayashi and Yoshimasa Morino, Kumamoto University, for valuable discussions. Zusammenfassung Konjugiertes Pferde-Östrogen zeigt cine ausgesprochen protektive Wirkung gegen epiphysäre Knochenschäden im experimentellen Meerschweinchenskorbut. Anwendung von Östriol-Natrium-Succinat von gleicher Dosis blieb ohne protektiven Einfluss.     

A trypsin-like protease in guinea-pig skin

Zusammenfassung Eine der vaso-aktiven Proteinfraktionen, aus Meerschweinchenhautextrakt gewonnen, hydrolisiert Kasein und N-()-benzoyl-l-Arginin Ethyl Ester. Substratspezifität, optimaler pH-Wert und Inaktivierung durch eine speziellen Trypsininhibitor (TLCK) beweisen, dass diese Proteinfraktion eine trypsinähnliche Protease enthält.     

The effect of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-palmitamide on delayed hypersensitivity in guinea-pig

Zusammenfassung Die Wirkung von N-(2-hydroxyethyl)palmitamid auf den Verlauf der Überempfindlichkeit des Spättypes in Meerschweinchen wurde verfolgt und festgestellt, dass die Verabreichung dieses Stoffes vor der Sensibilisierung eine Stimulation der Hypersensitivität bewirkt.     

Transfer and induction of delayed hypersensitivity to methylated bovine serum albumin in the absence of adjuvant]

Delayed hypersensitivity to methylated bovine serum albumin may be induced in Mice without adjuvant, by injecting the antigen either with sensitized T lymphocytes, or by injecting just the antigen in Mice preptreated with Cyclophosphamid.     

Tissue ascorbic acid and a liver dehydroascorbatase in guinea-pigs.

The extraction, partial purification and assay of a dehydroascorbatase from guinea-pig liver is described. There was no evidence that changes in dehydroascorbatase activity could account for the modified tissue ascorbic acid concentrations associated with aging or with the ingestion of fluoride, flavonoids or anthocyanin material.     

Histochemical localization of alkaline and acid phosphatase activities in the skin ofMystus (Mystus) vittatus Bl. (Siluriformes)

Summary An attempt has been made to localize alkaline and acid phosphatase activities in the skin ofMystus vittatus by using histochemical techniques. The alkaline phosphatase activity is found in metabolically active cells such as basal columnar cells, mucous cells and polygonal support cells. The acid phosphatase activity is intense in the outermost squamous support cells and in the basal columnar cells. The role of pyrophosphate and alkaline phosphatase in skin calcification (calciphylaxis)

Zusammenfassung Durch KMnO₄-Injektionen hervorgerufene lokale Hautverkalkung kann durch Pyrophosphatinjektionen verhindert werden. Durch alkalische Phosphatase wird die Pyrophosphatwirkung aufgehoben.
