A rapid micro radial electrophoretic method of protein separation on cellulose acetate membranes.

A new rapid micromethod for protein separation under a radial electric field is described. As many as 12 rabbit serum samples could be separated in 4--6 min.     

A rapid electrophoretic method for the separation of hydroxyproline from proline

Summary A rapid, sensitive procedure is described which uses custom made apparatus to separate radioactive imino acids. This technique provides a simple measurement of the distribution of newly synthesized collagen in different fractions.Acknowledgment. Inhibition of respiration ofAspergillus oryzae by adsorption of the mycelium on cellulose acetate fibres

Résumé L'intensité de respiration d'Aspergillus oryzae est fortement diminuée par adsorption du mycélium à un filtre d'acétate de cellulose soigneusement nettoyé. Cet effet suggère que certaines substances d'une importance capitale dans le métabolisme sont éliminées de la surface des hyphes.

Two-dimensional electrophoresis of rat serum esterases in cellulose acetate and acrylamide gradient gel

Zusammenfassung Isoenzyme von Serumesterasen wurden zuerst mit Zelluloseazetat und dann mit einem Gradientgel von Polyakrylamid mit zweidimensionaler Elektrophorese bei der Ratte untersucht. Ein neues Band, das eine starke Albuminesteraseaktivität aufweist und unempfindlich gegen 10^–3 M Physostigmin ist, wurde somit gefunden. Von 17 Esterasebändern waren 7 empfindlich auf Physostigmin, und 3 wurden auch durch Iso-OMPA gehemmt, während 284-C-51 gar keinen Effekt zeigte.

A rapid HPLC method for determination of adenylate energy charge

A simple procedure is described for separation and analysis of adenine nucleotides in tissue extracts, utilizing anion exchange HPLC. Determination of AMP, ADP, and ATP takes 10 min per sample.     

A rapid method of following the spontaneous regression of experimental leukemias

Summary Transplantation of virus and chemically induced leukemias from C3H/He-mgxAKR/F₁ hybrid mice into C3H/He-mg males induced leukemias in the latter, which was followed by a spontaneous regression of the disease within a few days. The regression of leukemia could easily be followed by measuring the changes in the pyruvate kinase activity of para-aortic lymph node cells.     

A rapid method for the fractionation of avian blood cell nuclei

Summary Red blood cell nuclei from avian anaemic blood have been fractionated by rate sedimentation on discontinous sucrose gradients into fractions which can be distinguished both by their RNA synthesizing ability and by their morphology as revealed by electron microscopy.Acknowledgment.
