Glycosaminoglycans of bovine lung parenchyma and pleura

Résumé On décrir et compare les glycosaminoglycanes du parenchyme et de la plèvre du poumon bovin. Tous les glycosaminoglycanes principaux, sauf le kératan-sulfate, y ont été trouvés, mais il y a beaucoup plus d'héparansulfate dans le parenchyme.

Glycosaminoglycans in separated tubules of the guinea-pig and rat kidney medulla

Isolated tubules of the renal medulla of guinea-pig and rat contained glycosaminoglycans. 20--25% of the uronic acids corresponded to hyaluronic acid. In the guinea-pig, chondroitin and dermatan-sulfates accounted for at least 50% of the uronic acids, whereas, in the rat, heparan sulfates comprised 65--70% of them.

Summary Isolated tubules of the renal medulla of guinea-pig and rat contained glycosaminoglycans. 20–25% of the uronic acids corresponded to hyaluronic acid. Plasma kininogen in extracorporal circulation and the influence of a protease inhibitor from bovine lung

Zusammenfassung Beim extrakorporalen Kreislauf mit der Herz-Lungen-Maschine wurden die Veränderungen des Kininogengehalts im Plasma und ihre Beeinflussbarkeit mit einem Proteasen-Inhibitor untersucht. Der beobachtete Abfall des Kininogenspiegels im Plasma während und nach der Perfusion und die Hemmung der Kininogendepletion mit dem Proteasen-Inhibitor sprechen fÜr eine Aktivierung des Kininogen-Kinin-Systems im extrakorporalen Kreislauf. Beziehungen zur Aktivierung des fibrinolytischen Systems werden angenommen.     

A comparative study of proteoglycans from bovine lung,trachea, tracheal mucosa,and aorta

Summary Proteoglycans were isolated from bovine lung, trachea, tracheal mucosa, and aorta by dissociative extraction with 4M guanidinium hydrochloride. Fractionation of these tissue extracts by cesium chloride density centrifugation and gel chromatography allowed the isolation from each extract of a high molecular weight fraction consisting mainly of proteochondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid.Acknowledgment. Changes in gentamicin pharmacokinetics after reduction of renal parenchyma

Summary The relationship between the elimination constant of gentamicin and the percentage of functioning nephrons in rats cannot be characterized by a simple linear relation. The results support the assumption that gentamicin elimination per residual nephron increased.     

Immune electrophoretic analysis of bovine milk and purified bovine milk protein fractions

Zusammenfassung Immunoelektrophoretisch liessen sich aus Kuhmilch mit Hilfe einiger Kaninchen-Anti-Milchseren mindestens 12 Immunpräzipitate nachweisen. Von diesen waren 6 Präzipitate serologisch mit Blutserumproteinen verwandt (u. a. Albumin und-Globulin). Ferner wurden Präparate von-Kasein,-Laktoglobulin und-Laktalbumin analysiert.     

Accumulation of dopamine in the parenchyma after decarboxylase inhibition in the capillaries of brain

Zusammenfassung Im Pallium und im Nucleus caudatus des Rattenhirns verstärkt der Decarboxylasehemmer Ro 4-4602 den durch Dopa bedingten Anstieg von Dopamin. Mit einer fluoreszenzmikroskopischen Methode wird gezeigt, dass Dopamin wahrscheinlich im Parenchym und nicht in den Kapillaren des Gehirns akkumuliert.     

Purification and characterization of bovine pancreatic alpha-amylase

A method for the purification of alpha-amylase from Bovine pancreas homogenate is described. This enzyme has the same molecular weight as the Porcine isoenzymes but its isoelectric point is more basic. Its amino acid composition is similar to that of Porcine, Ovine, Rat and Mouse amylases.     

Properties of bovine interferons

Summary This study was done in an attempt to elucidate some of the properties of bovine IFNs. Maximum levels of both fibroblast and leukocyte IFNs occurred prior to 24 h whereas maximum levels of immune IFN were not reached until after 72 h. The latter species of IFN was unstable at either pH 2 or 56°C whereas both the fibroblast and leukocyte IFNs were more stable under these conditions. Studies of cross-species protection between fibroblast and leukocyte IFNs indicate that the former was more protective for other species than the latter.Supported in part by National Institutes of Health Biomedical Research Support Grant RR05773-08.

Erythrophilic proteins of bovine plasma

Summary A saline eluate of sucrose washed bovine erythrocytes contains a few specific plasma proteins. The relationship between the proteins and erythrocyte morphology and physiology is discussed.     

Immunological analysis of bovine blood serum and milk

Zusammenfassung Antigene Faktoren in der Kuhmilch, die mit antigenen Faktoren im Blutserum immunologisch identifiziert werden können, sind mit Hilfe von Immunoelektrophorese analysiert worden. Als Vergleich wurde Kuhblutserum verwendet. Dieses zeigt mit homologem Immunserum, dass es wenigstens 21 antigene Faktoren enthält. 10 bis 15 davon können mit Faktoren in der Milch serologisch identifiziert werden.
