Riassunto È stata eseguita l'analisi cromatografica su carta degli aminoacidi costituenti la molecola della mioglobina ed emoglobina umana cristallizzate. I due pigmenti differiscono dal punto di vista qualitativo per il contenuto in cistina ed isoleucina. Il primo aminoacido si trova nella emoglobina e non nella mioglobina, il secondo solo nella miglobina.Risultati analoghi sono stati ottenuti con mioglobina ed emoglobina di cavallo.     

No association between Gilbert's syndrome,the AB0 blood groups and the haptoglobin phenotypes

Summary The different AB0 blood groups and haptoglobin phenotypes are as frequent in a well-defined group of subjects with Gilbert's syndrome as in appropriate samples of the general population.Acknowledgments. Amino acids as stimulating agents of DNA-replication in melanomas

Zusammenfassung Es wird über den Fortgang früherer Arbeiten 5 berichtet. Bei Zahnkarpfen-Melanomen, die durch total dereprimierte zellendeterminierende Gene bedingt sind, vermögen freie Aminosäuren den H³-Thymidineinbau zu stimulieren. Ein spezifisches Repressionsgen, das in einfacher Dosis das Tumorwachstum stark vermindert und in doppelter Dosis vollständig unterdrückt, hemmt den Stimulationseffekt der Aminosäuren. Tumorbildung erfolgt in zwei Schritten: 1. Derepression zellendeterminierender Gene und 2. Stimulation der Replikation in Zellen, die von diesen Genen determiniert werden.

Buffalo α S1-casein; its terminal residues and amino acid composition

Summary BuffaloaS₁-casein was treated with carboxypeptidase-A to determine the C-terminal amino acid residue, which was — leucine-tryptophan. The Sakaguchi reagent was used to confirm arginine as the N-terminal amino acid. The colored p-phenylazophenyl thiohydantions of tryptophan and arginine released from C- and N-terminals respectively were quantitatively estimated and from this molecular weights of buffaloaS₁ casein were calculated and found to be 26,300 and 26,100 respectively.Acknowledgment. Amino acid composition of crude and germinated guarseed flour protein (Cyamopsis Psoralioides)

Zusammenfassung Untersuchungen über die Aminosäurezusammensetzung des Mehles von ungekeimten und gekeimten Guarsamen (Cyamopsis Psoralioides), die ein billiges, hochproteinhaltiges Nahrungsmittel darstellen, haben ergeben, dass die Aminosäurekombination im gekeimten Samen einer guten Proteinqualität entspricht. Die Prüfungen über den biologischen Wert dieses Mehles sind im Gange.     

Progressive antithrombin activity in rabbit plasma. Role of alpha macroglobulins]

Immunological methods associated with a kinetic study of blood coagulation allowed us to show the influence of the 2 rabbit alpha macroglobulins on the plasma progressive antithrombin activity. This study allowed the authors to discuss the participation of the alpha macroglobulins during the fibrinoformation and to think that these proteins have an immediate antithrombin activity.
