| Abstract: | The is paper deals with the ground foundation and the installation house of theAbridged Armallia made by Guo Shoujing in the Yuan Dynasty. Based in some historical mate-rials, the author shows that the Abridged Armilla was placed on a ground foundation withmarks for the 24directions on it that is larger than the pedestal of the Abridges Armilla andthe astronomical instrument was installed inside a circular structure which was designed as avault. Two possible structural designs of the house are conjunctive, and whether the use ofthe instruments is restricted by the structure of not is also discussed. |
