Exploration and Observation:A Comment on Tsiang Tingfu's Visit to the Soviet Union

This paper probes into Mr.Tsiang's secrect diplomatic activities and his observations to the Soviet Union in 1934, holding the opinion that his visit to a great degree promoted the relation between the Kuomingtang Government and the Soviet Union and strengthened the confidence of the Kuomingtang Government to unify the Soviet Union and resist Japanese. In addition, this visit provided a chance for him to have some fundermental idea of the domestic political situation and the diplomatic policy of the Soviet Union.It shows that he began to change from a diplomatic historian to a diplomat.
