中国典籍文化词的翻译方法

针对文化典籍中文化词的翻译,提出七种处理方法,即直译、音译、替代、意译、直译加注、释译、译出基本含义。这七种方法遵循的翻译原则是:既能表现出原文的文化风格,又能符合译文读者的文化习惯,从而实现不同民族的相互沟通与交融。

Translation Strategies of Cultural Words in Chinese Classics

This paper attempts to discuss the strategies in translating cultural words. Seven strategies, namely literal translation, transliteration, replacement, free translation, literal translation with explanation, explanation, translating the implied meaning of foreign cultural expressions, are offered in the paper. These translation strategies are based on the principle of expressing the original cultural taste as well as the target cultural style.
