摘    要:Hyland把元话语分为两类,即交际元话语和互动元话语。在学术论文中,应用元话语充分表达语篇意义和人际意义,使作者和读者之间能有效地进行交流。而利用元话语策略,用英文撰写在语言和修辞上符合学术社区习惯的论文,是国内作者需要努力的方向。通过对论文中常用的模糊限制语的研究,文中给出了几点建议来帮助教学,以提高英语学术写作能力。

A View on the improvement of English academic writing ability based on considerable study of metadiscourse in research papers

Abstract:Hyland classified metadiscourse into two categories based on their functions: interactive and interactional. On the one hand, in academic research paper, the application of metadiscourse can help express textual meaning and interpersonal meaning to a great extent, which makes it possible for writers and readers to communicate effectively. On the other hand, EFL writers in China lack the aware- ness to employ metadiscourse strategies to make research papers which conform to the academic com- munity both linguistically and rhetorically. By the study of hedges in research papers, this article of- fers some suggestions for classroom teaching to improve students English academic writing ability.
