| Abstract: | The expansion of a city is an important manifestation of urbanization. In China, there is a limit to the territory resource and no enough cultivated area, so the research on expansion of a city is of great significance. This paper discusses problems of geomorphological environment and urban expanding ia Chongqing.1. In mountain and crossing-river environment, the expanding of Chongqing is controled mostly and has characters, such as unproportionality, skipment and sterolity.2. Chongqing city expands in unproportionable starshape. The trend of expanding of the city is from the bank of rivers to interior land and lays main direction on the west. |
