运用X-阶标理论与中心语移位理论分析实义谓词"be+not"结构,指出该结构中be移位不仅可能而且必要。一方面,谓词be屈折变化丰富;另一方面,限定实义谓词be不仅是主谓词与辅助谓词的复合体,而且缺乏do-支持。此外,结构中not并非NEGP之中心语,而是副词。这些都使移位成为可能。而移位是作为最后手段使得表达式能够通过特征核查,这使得移位成为必要。作者认为,以往对于实义谓词"be+not"结构的分析之所以遇到困难,是因为对结构中be与not/n't认识不清所致。

A Syntactic Analysis of Notional "be+not" Constructions
