英文版《京华烟云》中平行对照修辞格的应用

基于结构分析法，分析英文版《京华烟云》中平行对照修辞格的使用情况及其修辞功能，发现平行对照被广泛应用于该小说词汇、短语、从句和句子四个层面的对立对照中。小说利用平行对照结构平行而语义相反的特点，突出了对立对照概念的比较与矛盾。这种运用语言形式来表达思想内涵的方法，使小说产生形式上的对称之美，体现出作者对立统一的辩证之道，并以此来揭示矛盾对立的社会现实，展示对抗冲突的人物性格，表达中国人民的抗争勇气和必胜信念，以及作者自己浓厚的民族自信与赤子之情。

A Study on the Use of Antithesis in Moment in Peking

By adopting the method of structural analysis,this paper discusses the application and rhetorical functions of antithesis in the English novel of Moment in Peking.The study finds that antithesis is widely used in the opposing or contrasting of words,phrases,clauses and sentences.Lin Yutang,by taking full advantages of antithesis characterized by the balance of structure and opposition of meaning,highlights the contradiction of opposing or contrasting ideas.This method of using language form to express thoughts produces the beauty of symmetry and dialectical unity of opposites,which helps reveal the contradictory social facts,display conflicting personality of the characters and express Chinese peoples courage to fight,their faith in triumph and the authors confidence in the nation with his patriotism.
