Multi-fold Forms in Modern Chinese Urban Literature

In modern Chinese literature, urban literature takes on multi fold forms. The left wing writers such as Mao Dun reveals the social trend and class conflicts in China. Lao She and many Peking writers sense more traditional atmosphere from Beiping, faced with the urban development, they show their love and regrets, they also expose the degeneration of humanity and morals. Shanghai writers describe the metropolitan life, loneliness and twisted human nature under the great pressure of civilized life.
