新型的双包层同轴圆柱光波导的研究

摘    要:研究了一种新型的双包层阶跃光波导,内包层的折射率大于芯及外包层的折射率,因而光被限制在内包层中传播。文中推导了此类光波导的子午光线和空间光线的数值孔径。在弱波导近似下推出了柱坐标下的波导模式方程。

Abstract:A theoretical study of a new type of doubly clad step index optical waveguide is made. As the inner clad has a higher refractive index than those of the core and the outer clad, the light waves are restricted to transmit mainly in the inner clad. In terms of ray optics, the numerical apertures of both meridional rays and skew rays are obtained. The mode equation is given by the approximation of weakly guiding optical fiber. The propagating constant, electric field distribution and power distribution in the inner clad and outer clad for LP on are given. It is shown that the characteristics of the waveguide are influenced remarkably by refractive index, thickness of the inner clad and wavelength.
