The Effect of the Imperfect Fiber Endfaces on the Dynamic Performance of Extrinsic F-P Interferometric Optical Fiber Sensors

Abstract:A systematic theoretical analysis of the effect of imperfect fiber endfaces on the dynamic performance of extrinsic Fabry(Perot interferometric (EFPI) optical fiber sensors is presented. This analysis allows the prediction of the dynamic range of a sensor with greater confidence. Good correlation with the preliminary exeperimental results is also shown.
