A Review of the Poetics of Afro-American Autobiography

This paper discusses legality,contextualization and narration in the poetics of Afro-American autobiography. It argues that the Poetics of Afro-American autobiography works on both the synchronic and diachronic places, demonstrates the inner relationship between the autobiography and the Afro-American culture, and illustrates the characteristics of internalized documents and narration. Furthermore, it sets forth that the poetics of Afro-American autobiography shifts from the former social-historical criticism to the multi-criticism in 1980-1990s.
