| Abstract: | Pure aluminum wire of 5 mm in diameter is p ro duced with the self made horizontal heated mold continuous casting equipment. The influence of processing factor such as mould temperature, casting speed, and cooling distance on the position of solidification front is discussed. It is es tablished that processing factors have a remarkable effect on the position of th e solidification front. In order to get a good ingot, the mould temperature must be kept above the melting temperature of the cast metal and processing factors must be match each other very well. |
