| 摘 要： | 近代（１８４０－１９４９）湖北棉花生产发展，在全国占有重要地位，在地域分布上以鄂东，鄂北和江汉平原为主，影响棉花生产的主要原因有利益的驱动，近代棉纺织工业的发展以及政府的提倡等，由于种植方法不科学，导致棉花质量差，产量低，受自然灾害的影响，棉花生产缺乏稳定性。

| Abstract: | ?The cotton production of Hubei Province made a great progress in mod-ern times (1840-1949), and held an important place in China. North, East andJianghan Plain were main producing distribution. The main causes included drive ofbenifit, the progress of modern,s cotton textiles industry and the government,s ad-vocation. The unscientific planting method led to poor quality and lower output ofcotton- The cotton production was short of stability because of natural calamity. |
