Abstract:The three-dimension coupled ultrasonical vibration of a thick rectangular plate is studied by using the apparent elasticity method with its resonant frequency equation deduced. On the basis of piezoelectric effect in piezoelectricity, the equivalent circuit of the thick rectangular plate is derived, where the poisson effect is analogized to piezoelectric effect. The experiments show that the calculated frequencies agree very well with the measured ones, and the thick rectangular plate has plenty of resonant frequencies. Therefore the rectangular plate will find many uses in developing wide bandwidth radiating ultrasonical sources.
