| 摘 要： | 伊迪丝·沃顿（1862-1937）是美国20世纪较早获得国际声誉的女作家。出版于1920年的《纯真年代》为她赢得了美国普利策文学奖,为读者展示了栩栩如生的上流社会生活图。本文通过对小说两位女主人翁详细的分析,揭示沃顿笔下的新女性形象,反映小说中的女性意识,即女性对自身作为人,尤其是女人的价值的体验和醒悟.

| Abstract: | Edith Wharton （1862-1937） is one of the earliest American female novelists who receive international reputation. The Age of lanocence, published in 1920, wins for Wharton the Pulitzer Prize. It shows readers a vivid picture about New York wealthy society. This thesis attempts to analyze the two heroine＇s charaeteristies, reveal a new woman image, and make an exploration into the feminine eonseiousness in The Age of Innoeenee. |
