| Abstract: | As we know the B-spline basis is not orthogonal, we attempt to construct an orthogonal basis over cubic spline space. Given a knot vector on the interval , we start from the cubic B-spline basis, we construct an orthogonal basis , by using the properties of B-spline basis, Furthermore ,we study the properties of the orthogonal basis and its application to degree reduction and approximating. |
