| Abstract: | This paper presents a new algorithm for real-time automatic generation control (AGC) of hydropower plants, in which the dynamic programming and equal incre-mental principle are integrated. A xnethod of the so-called "priority indices of start/stop" is used to determine which units ought to be put into operation. The application of the algorithm in hydropower plants is described. |
