| Abstract: | Both transient and residual deformations during welding are simulated using the 3-D thermal-elastic-plastic finite element method. The characterstics of mechanical behaviors of welding and some methods for improving the accuracy and convergence of solution are discussed.The effectiveness of the proposed methods is demonstrated through the 3-D analysis of two real welding problems as examples. |
