Construction Techniques of the pillar-supported house of the Miao in Southeast Guizhou are not a simple building process. There are many distinctive contents in it including local traditions, eonstruction skills and architectural concepts, which are important components of the local folk culture and architectural culture. With the urbanization in rural areas, construction techniques for brick-wood structure and modern buildings have great impact on the traditional pillar-supported house of the Miao. Therefore, it is necessary and urgent for the research of protection, development and utilization of local traditional buildings. Through study of construction techniques, building materials and local customs, this article expatiates on inheritance of architectural culture of the Miao and protection and development traditions.
