关于红层特点及分布规律的初步探讨

红层为红色的陆相碎屑沉积物，形成于古盆地和湖泊环境，主要形成于炎热、干燥的地质时期。红层岩石组成多为砂岩和砾岩，并夹粉砂岩、页岩、泥岩、灰岩、石膏及岩盐等，红层的沉积结构和构造具有一定的规律性。红层是地壳演化到一定历史阶段的产物，它不只是中新生代的产物，在古生代也有红层发育与分布。中国的红层主要分布在西南、华南、华中及西北的广大地区。由于各地区红层的岩性、构造运动、气候条件和时间因素不同，红层中发育了多种地貌，如方山、丘陵、高原、丹霞地貌等。红层地貌与丹霞地貌应严格区分开来。

A Preliminary Study on the Characteristics and the Distribution of Red Beds

Red Beds are nonmarine clastic depositions composed of red conglomerates,san d_conglomerates and snadstones interbedded with siltstones,mudstones shales,gypsum and rock salts,which mainly formed in inland basins and lakes during hot and arid climates. Red Beds occurred not only in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic but also in the Paleozoic.They are widely distributed in Sothwest_,Northwest_,Southeast_ and Mid_China.Due to the differences in lithologic compositions,tectonic features,climate conditiions and durations,Red Beds show different landforms,including hillsides,flat_mountaintops,highlands and Danxia landform.
