双折射光纤环形腔

摘    要:应用琼斯矩阵详尽地分析了光纤各种不同性质的双折射对光纤环形腔特性的影响,江纤的双折射和扭转使普通单模光纤环形腔的带阻输出特性中的谐振峰分裂为两组,谐振频率发生偏移,偏移量正比于双折射参数g,两组谐振峰物相对幅度取决于光纤的双折射参数和输入偏振态。调整输入偏振态为双折射光纤本征偏振态之一时,就仅出现一组谐振峰。光纤的双折射与扭转对环形腔的精细度没有影响。

Abstract:The effects of birefringent properties of optical fibers on the characteristics of fiber- optic ring resonator are analyzed in detail by meansof Jonesmatrix.The resonance peaks in the band- stop output characteristcs of single- mode fiber optic- ring resonator are split into two groups because of birefringence or twistofthe fibers. The deviationsof theresonance frequenciesare proportionalto the birefringent parameter g of the fibers. The amplitudes of the two groups of resonance peaks depend on the birefringent parameters of the fibers and input polarization states. The only one group of resonance peaks existsif the inputpolarization state isjustthe one ofpolarization eigenstates.Butthe birefringences or twistof fibers have no influencesupon the fineness of the fiber- optic ring resonator.
