| Abstract: | First, some improvements have been made for direct superposition of Ritz vectors in this paper. And then, an approach for reducing dynamic equations of large structures is introduced by combining direet superposition of Ritz vectors with static substructure algorithm. The reduced equations are integrated by step-by-step instead of integrating the primary equations. Therefore, the calculation time can be greatly reiluced for seismic response analysis of large structures with higher precision. The numerical examples show that this approach is effective for large structures such as concrete dams. |
