小熊猫的繁殖生物学研究

通过野外考察,结合饲养,对小熊猫繁殖生物学进行了研究,得到了标志繁殖行为、繁殖期、孕期平均为131天,每胎产仔1.7只和雌雄性比1:1.2,约18个月性成熟,以及幼仔的生长发育和死亡率等。又在此基础上探讨了对小熊猫饲养繁殖的生态模拟。

STUDY OF REPRODUCTION BIOLOGY OF THE RED PANDA

Several aspects were studied the reproductive biology of the Red panda, Ailurus fulgens in captivity and nature recent years. This species exbits marked mating and birth seasons and produces litters averagingl-7with a sex ratio of 1.2 males to one female. Sexual maturity is reached inthe second breeding season after birth or when animals are approximately 18 months of age. Growth. development and mortality of young are discussed, This study noted a wide range in observed gestation periods, averaging 131 days, which may be due to one or a combination of factors, Beeding behaviour is briefly noted and compared to that in other related species. Predictions about reprodutive and other life strategies of Red pandas in nature are drawn fitting captive data into accepted ecological models.
