THE DECISION OF EQUIPMENT PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PERIOD AND REPLACEMENT PERIOD

The determination of the preventive maintenance period and replacement period makes it possible to maximize the equipment efficiency with minimum maintenance expences during its usage life. This paper analysed the relationship between maintenance for unexpected failure and preventive maintenance. The optimal model of equipment maintenance and replacement based on economic control theory was discussed. The solution of the model describes the way in which the preventive maintenance stages are segmented and the preventive maintenance rate are optimally controlled. The optimal replacement period was also presented. The application of the model was illustrated by an example. Finally, the algorism for segmentation of preventive maintenance stages and their optimal control were derived in case the replacement period is given.
