Determination of Gear Modified Index Through Oprimization

This paper discusses constraints and quality criteria of selecting gear modified index and proposes an approach to model optimizing the modified index selection. First, constraints to select modified index are given. Second, the author presents an analysis model of quality criteria. Third, an optimization model using non-linear programing is established. Finally the pratical examples are given to check the above approaches, and in fact, the result are satisfactory.
