| Abstract: | The 'blood' image in ancient Chinese literature displays very rich connotation. Through the connotative characteristics the image reflects and its symbolic level, we can comprehend the overall style and features of Chinese civilization in which personal experience is stressed, power of understanding advocated and introspection pursued as well as understand the blood image's aesthetic orientation for people to pursue truth, goodness and beauty. |
