Abstract:Ecological footprint is a method to test sustainable development level of a country or region, reflecting quantitatively interference and disruption of human activities on ecological environment. Based on the statistical data of Fujian Province in 2009, this article improves the calculating method of previous ecological footprint model by using energy analysis approach (EMA) and studies the ecological footprint of Fujian in 2009. The results show that: the potential ecological capacity of Fujian is 0. 89003ghm2 per capita,the output capacity of local products of Fujian is 2. 53669ghm2 per capita and the ecological footprint of Fujian is 1. 57034ghm2 per capita. Thus the ecological deficit of Fujian is 0. 68031ghm2 per capita. Ecological energy loading ratio reaches 176%, which indicates that the eco-economic system of Fujian are in an unsustainable development state.
