The Problems of Environment and Resources in Relation to Economic Sustained Development in the Northern Shaanxi Energy Base

The energy resources base in Northern Shaanxi is an important part of Shaanxi and lnnermongolia. This base, lying in the central area of power development in the Northwest China, is foundto have sufficient coal, natural gas power resources, mining resources and rich resouces ofagriculture, husbandry and forestry, which become the potentlal advantage of the economicdevelopment of the base. lt has already become China's important base for power development andeconomic construction. However, although there ara sufficient resources in this area, its economy isstill backward. The d1fficulty and complexity of its economy are discussed on the economicdevelopment here. There fore, it is of great significance to discuss the relationship between theprotection of environment resources and economy development. Some strategic decisions forpromoting comprehensive development are proposed.
