| Abstract: | The popular movie Lost in Thailand contains a rich corpus of humor. This paper analyzes humorous effects caused by viola- ting the four maxims of the Cooperative Principle in conversation from the perspective of pragmatics. It aims to help language learners to have a better understanding and appreciation of linguistic interaction. |
