| Abstract: | Two new methods of the image preprocessing for machine vision are presented. The one is a new edge detecting method based on curve fitting which can improve the performance in extracting edges of objects from image and can simplify the following high level vision process. The other is a new completely deterministic thresholding method based on the mean of the image gradiant strength which can get an approprite threshold value for segmenting objects from the background and, after being improved, can be quite robust to the noise. |
