| Abstract: | Changshu is a famous historic city which is facing some problems of handling the relations between the development of the economy and the preservation of the culture rationally. The paper has discussed the planning and design of Changshu New Downtown with the case study of a project. The author thinks that we should harmonize the relationships between "building" and "preserving" effectively by viewing the city as a whole and letting the public give opinion on the problem. |
