Investigation of test methods of chloride ion penetration in concrete

To cooperate with the revision of Standard for Test Method of Long-Term Properties and Durability on Ordinary Concrete (GBJ82-85), an elaborate investigation has been executed on the test methods and standards of chloride ion penetration in concrete. The test methods and techniques of concrete's resistance to chlorides ingression around the world are reviewed, and their principle, application scope, merits and shortcomings are compared. It is further proved that the resistance of concrete to chloride ion permeation is one of the most important durability indices, therefore, it is reasonable to be added into the standard (GBJ82-85) in China.
