Abstract:SCMV-MDB could be transmitted in a non- persistent manner by Rhopalosipumpadi, Myzus persicae,Schizaphis graminum,Acythosiphum dirhodum,Brevicoryne brassicae and thelast two are reported in China for the first time,but the virus is not transmitted by Macrosiphumavenae,purifified SCMV -MDB could not be transmitted through artificial parafilm feedingMyzus persicae and Rhopalosiphum padi.SCMV-MDB could be transmitted by the seeds ofmaize,maize inbred line and sweet corn but not by sorghum.The seed transmission rate pfsweet corn cultivar Jination 24 is 0.1% ,the percentage of seed transmission of maize inbredline 12 and 13 is 0.5% in the same. The seed transmission rate of Tianyu 1and Yedan 13inoculating at 3~4,5~6and 7~8 leaves periods is 0.09%,0.63%m0.23%and 0.27%, 0.80%, 0.09% respectively Pollen of Tively.Pollen of Tianyu 1 and Yedan13 infected with SCMV-MDB does not make their seed carry SCMV-MDB.Radicle,plumule,endosperm and seedscoat are detected by indirect ELISA and the results demonstrate that SCMV-MDB exists inparts of seeds except seed coat
