Abstract:The authors have come up with a newly improved parameter of information on vegetation remote sensing: the plant cover degree DPC=(KM-KS)/KP-KS), the KS, KP and KM in equation are respectively the rate of the reflectivity in infrared band (MSS7) to the reflectivity in red band (MSS5) for soil, plant and mixed target. The DPC is free from the influene of the soil, it is a more effective parameter of information on vegetation remote sensing. The author's measurement of the various typical soil indicates that KS value can be almost viewed as constant, which brings unexpected convenience in application.
