摘    要:以西北太平洋为重点回顾了从能量学角度对热带气旋(TCs)活动和变化的气候学研究进展.从低层正压能量转化、斜压能量转化、非绝热加热等角度综述了能量过程对TCs发生频数、生成源地的影响.从现有的TCs强度的能量指标以及气旋的变性方面回顾了能量学在TCs强度变化中的应用.在回顾已有研究进展和分析存在薄弱环节的基础上,阐述了扰动位能(PPE)在TCs能量学研究的重要性,并以季节内尺度的印-太对流涛动(IPCO)为例探讨了其在TCs活动与变化研究的可行性.最后以此为契机对未来基于PPE的TCs活动与变化的相关能量学研究方向进行了展望.

Abstract:Recent progresses in climatological research of tropical cyclone activities with a special focus on the Northwest Pacific are reviewed in terms of energetics.Influence of energy process on the frequency and position of tropical cyclogenesis is reviewed in regard to lower atmospheric barotropic energy conversion, baroclinic energy conversion and diabatic heating.Based on the current energy metrics of the TC intensity and research on extratropical transition of the TCs,the application of energetics in the research on the TC intensity in then summarized.In view of existing issues,the importance of perturbation potential energy in tropical cyclone research is further illustrated.For the Indo-Pacific convection oscillation on an intraseasonal timescale, perturbation potential energy is shown to be an effective tool in the study of tropical cyclone activities and variations.Some perspectives for tropical cyclone research are then proposed in regard to perturbation potential energy.
