| Abstract: | The Nobel Prize for Chemistry for 2005 is shared by three chemists, YvesChauvin, Robert H Grubbs and Richard R Schrock, who have made fundamental discoveriesin olefin metathesis and its application in organic synthesis and polymerization.This articlebriefly introduces the mechanism, application and development of olefin metathesis, as wellas the historical contributions to this great discovery. |
