摘    要:已有基于共享内存的虚拟机间通信方法不能在支持应用编程透明和虚拟机在线迁移的同时满足实现复杂度低的要求。针对该问题,面向同一物理计算机上多个虚拟机间的通信,提出了一种支持在线迁移的虚拟机间快速通信方法RLMCom,通过引入通信加速内核模块和改进已有虚拟机监控器,可构造出支持RLMCom的虚拟机系统。改进了连接建立、数据传输、连接关闭等关键流程以支持在线迁移。与现有基于共享内存的虚拟机间通信方法相比,该方法同时满足对用户和编程者透明、支持在线迁移且无需修改操作系统内核代码3个特点。分析表明,该方法可有效提高通信效率,保证虚拟机在线迁移时通信的正确性。

Abstract:Existing communication methods between virtual machines based on shared memory cannot meet the following three features: programming transparent, live migration supporting and easy to implement. In this paper, RLMCom, a rapid and live migration enabled inter virtual machines communication method was proposed. By implementing a communication acceleration OS kernel module and modifying existing virtual machine monitor, a virtual system prototype which supports RLMCom was built. The method to establish a connection, to transmit data and to close a connection in this system was revealed. Compared with the existing methods, the proposed method is programming transparently and supports virtual machine live migration. At the same time, there is no need to modify the existing OS kernel codes. Analysis shows that RLMCom can effectively reduce communication costs and guarantee the correctness of communication in case of virtual machine live migration.
